Bio

Yvette Shadrock is a Texas artist whose best known work focuses on nature and the relationships between human beings and their spiritual/physical connection to the natural world.  Working exclusively in oils, Shadrock's paintings evoke a sense of mystery and mysticism that speak of
the interconnections between all things.  Born in San Antonio in 1975, Shadrock grew up on a working farm/cattle ranch just southwest of the city.  Growing up close to nature would instill in her a passion for the outdoors and the wonders of the natural world that would be her lifelong muse.

Shadrock's paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums both in Texas and throughout the United States.  In San Antonio, TX, Shadrock has exhibited work with AnArte Gallery, The Blue Star Contemporary Arts Center, Bismarck Studios, Studio 2410,    Silo, the Art SA Gallery, and many others.  She has also exhibited at The Cordova Historical Museum in Cordova, AK,  the Lowe Art Museum in Miami, FL,  Taylor Companies in Washington, DC,  the National Museum of American Art in Washington, DC, Concordia University in Austin, TX, the American Council for the Arts in New York City, NYNEX in White Plains, NY, and Volitant Gallery in Austin, TX.

In addition, her work is in many public and corporate collections, including those of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Taylor Companies, Inc. of Washington, DC, FBD Enterprises of San Antonio, the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South Campus in Oklahoma City, the corporate headquarters of Amegy Bank in Dallas, and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Ms. Shadrock is also the recipient of several awards and honors.  Even before graduating high school, Shadrock had already received national recognition for her artistic endeavors, winning both the top level award in visual arts from the Arts Recognition and Talent Search, a program directed by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and the prestigious Presidential Scholar Award.  She went on to receive the Texas Emerging Artist Scholarship for painting.  In 2007 she was a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize.

Shadrock received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio, with a concentration in painting and a minor in art history.  She is currently a full-time artist.  She lives and works in Pipe Creek, TX.
